Bringing your ideas to life
The driving force behind starting up Handy Mats Workshop was a need to be as varied and creative as possible in my every day work.
After completing my modern apprenticeship in emergency systems back in 2006, I worked for major service providing companies, delivering maintenance contracts for some of the nations largest corporations. In 2015 I retrained as a projects manager and used my experience in the service sector to become a construction site manager overseeing the installation and completion of large scale projects in commercial and industrial settings.
When I found my usual contracts drying up due to the global pandemic, I knew I had to take stock and imagine a new way to pay the bills. Solve a new problem and adapt to the new normal. Choosing to see this as an opportunity and return to what I loved the most. Being creative with my hands and helping others.
I have qualifications in electrical systems, health and safety and site/project management and experience in delivering major contracts to national customers. These combined with a passion to create and a drive to help others led me to starting Handy Mats Workshop. A building contractor with national corporate standards, delivered to local people by local people.
The last three years have been good to us and as well as expanding the range of services we offer the team has also grown to include Michael and Alex. Both as passionate as I am about providing a great service and excellent value for money.
